Welcome: A place to land

Welcome to this space

Thank you for being here. I welcome you to my blog with zero pressure, zero expectations, and hopefully a sigh of relief.

You may be here because you’re exploring counselling, seeking non-judgemental support, or maybe you simply found yourself down an internet rabbit hole and now you don’t know if you’re Arthur or Martha.

Either way, you’ve arrived, and that matters.

What you’ll find here

My intention for this blog is to offer grounded, human reflections on emotional wellbeing, healing, relationships, and the lived experience of being a person (which is… a lot).

In a world where we consume, consume, consume… hopefully this actually leaves you with something meaningful, rather than adding to the mental load.

My Counselling approach

My counselling approach is relational and trauma-informed.

But what does relational counselling actually mean?

It means that the therapeutic relationship can be the therapy because the client/counsellor dynamic is a relationship in which patterns of relating to one another are evident, and the way we relate in the counselling room often reflects the way we relate in the world.

When these patterns become visible in a safe, supportive space, they can be explored with curiosity rather than shame.

I could go on… but maybe I’ll save that for another blog post.

I’m not a purist…

I’m not a purist when it comes to therapy styles. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. This may include:

  • Emotion-focused strategies

  • Solution-focused techniques

  • Cognitive-based approaches

  • Nervous system regulation and grounding practices

The work is always collaborative, gentle, and at your pace.

Big exhale, mate. Thanks for landing here.
